As the Head of the Data Science team, my responsibilities include:- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and translating them into machine learning models and solutions.- Designing system architecture for AI-powered services in the cloud, managing infrastructure, and implementing security best practices, with a primary focus on AWS and container orchestration technologies.- Developing microservices for data science applications, particularly focused on NLP applications to drive digital transformation in the enterprise.- Practicing Agile project management methodologies to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.- Managing the data science team, its processes, and personnel.- Creating and implementing process and technology standards to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.- Conducting documentation of projects, methodologies, and findings to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain records.- Operationalizing and deploying deep learning applications in specialized hardware (on-premises).- Conducting outreach and marketing activities to promote the team's capabilities and attract potential clients or collaborators.- Providing coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and skill development.- Keeping up with recent advancements and trends in the field.

As the sole member of the recently-created Data Science team, my responsibilities included:- Developing machine learning models for document processing, classification, and information retrieval systems, utilizing computer vision (CV) and natural language processing techniques (NLP).- Deploying and monitoring containerized machine learning services in the cloud (GCP) as API endpoints.- Designing and implementing robotic process automation (RPA) solutions.
