I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker; Clinical Hypnotherapist; ; Consultant; and Advocate. I have worked in the field of mental health/developmental disabilities for over 30 years. I am a psychotherapist, providing alternative evidence based practices to the ID/MI child/adolescent and adult populations. In 2007 I developed a program for families with children/adolescents diagnosed with Reactive attachment disorder. Components of the program were founded by Nancy Thomas who is responsible for developing and implementing the first success residential program.In 2009 I began to research Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder with adult Intellectual Disabilities. I have presented at the C-Waiver State Conference on FASD.2009- 2014: Member of an Adapted DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) team. I have been instrumental in developing the Informed Adapted DBT program for the ID population. I have been a speaker on Informed DBT for the ID population at State Conferences in Lansing, MI. I am a Leader in Policy Advocacy (LIPA), an intensive, innovative program for adults with developmental disabilities and parents of children with developmental disabilities. I am a parent of a child who severely multiply impaired.
