Latent defect technical manager

BLP are a Latent Defects Insurance provider to the construction industry both commercial and Residential properties for cover up to 12 years from completion.As Technical Manager at BLP insurance, I have responsible for delivery of Technical inspection service in line with agreed Service Levels. My role includes dealing with a large array of technical construction issues both from in-house enquiries and from external customers both before and during construction on site.Ensuring the technical team are working at the required level and delivering to all our clients as required through a system of laid down quality control procedures which are constantly being adapted and refined year on year to strive to always be improving our delivery.

Full responsibility for day to day management of the London and South team, 13 members, including all performance management issues and monitoring as well as coaching, arranging and providing training, chairing team meetings.Dealing with all technical issues in my area and customer referrals etc. Attending Regional and National managers meeting to discuss and consider policy going forward and efficeiency and productivity improvements.Review reporting and feeding back all claims in my area to learn and avoid going forward.

Senior Site Manager in charge of Refurbishment scheme in Westcliff Essex and sections of a large estate refurbishment scheme in a challenging environment in Hackney.

Fully responsible for the Supervision of large Residentilal schemes ranging from the creation of a brand new Housing estate in East London, 72 houses in Kent and a Foyer scheme for younge people in Brentwood amongst others.I was overall in charge of these schemes and was responsible for all aspects of Site Management, Production, Quality, Safety, Managing staff that reported to me as well as all Sub-contractors ensuring that the client (Housing Associations) were happy with what was produced.

Working on a varied portfolio of sites as a site supervisor responsible for one aspect of the build within an overall team, projects included London school of economics and Whipps cross Hospital re-development where I was responsible for areas such as Wards, Operating Theatres and Hydrotherapy pool.
