A dual role serving as a manager of the transition process and a team leader in the newly formed Global Ministry Exchange team.At the end of December 2011 the role of the Area Secretary in the global Bible Societies Fellowship structure ceased. In its place is a new framework to assist Bible Societies collaborate more directly with one another.The Global Mission Team has three main focuses: - To raise the Bible Societies global profile through global partnerships (such as with UNESCO), better external communications and improved use of digital technology.- To mobilise Bible Society global mission by focusing on our six-eight key global mission priorities.- To build capacity and capability amongst the Bible Societies Fellowship, through staff support, training and development.The United Bible Societies is made up of 146 national Bible Societies operating in over 200 countries and territories. Together, they are the biggest translator, publisher and distributor of the Bible in the world. They are also active in areas such as literacy training, HIV and AIDS prevention and disaster relief. Bible Societies work with all Christian Churches and many international non-governmental organisations.Translating the Bible remains at the heart of what Bible Societies do. There are now more than 450 complete Bible translations and each year more are added. Currently, there are Scriptures available in 2,527 of the world’s estimated 6,500 languages. Our translation policy ensures we have translation guidelines that are acceptable to the Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox Churches. Bible Societies are dedicated to faithfully delivering new translations to Christians anywhere who have never had a Bible in their own language.

In 1997 appointed as the Asia Pacific Area Secretary, facilitating the work of the Area Board and the collaboration of Bible Societies in the region and coordinating a team responsible for capacity building in Bible translation, publishing, business finance and grant management.The United Bible Societies Asia Pacific Region comprises 18 Bible Societies with work in 52 counties from Iran in the West to the islands on Micronesia and the South Pacific in the west; Mongolia to the north and New Zealand to the south.

Moved to Hong Kong in 1983 to take up a regional publishing coordination role for the Bible Societies located throughout Asia Pacific. A key role during my 13 years in Hong Kong was the establishment of the Amity Printing Company, a Chinese Christian initiated joint venture with the United Bible Societies in Nanjing, China. Today the Amity Printing Company is one of the largest Bible printing presses in the world. Since its inauguration in 1987 until today it has produced more than 100 million Bibles. 60 million of these have been distributed throughout China and over 40 million have been distributes by Bible Societies and other Bible publishing agencies throughout the world. I still serve a director on the Board of the Amity Printing Company.From 1990 also played a role in the re-establishment of Bible Society work in Cambodia, Laos, West Asia and Vietnam.

Production director for the Bible Society of India Bangalore, India. Assisted rebuild a national printing supply network, establish direct connections with paper suppliers. Worked with paper suppliers to produce and supply improved quality thin paper for Bible printing. The Bible Society of India publishes over 1,200 titles in more than 35 languages annually.

Took a position with a publishing company in New Delhi, India in 1976. The primary responsibility was to establish a new printing plant. During that time supervised the construction of the plant, coordinated the training of the administrative and technical staff and managed of the first 5 years of operation.

After completing my studies at the college continued in a staff capacity for a year. Established an in-house offset printing facility for the production of college printed materials.

Vocational training scheme in printing and graphic arts for young Aboriginal men and women. During those two years I was privileged to be associated with the implementation of land rights for the Aboriginal communities in Victoria and in particular the historical return of land rights to the Lake Tyres Aboriginal Community .

One year in Ukarumpa Papua New Guinea serving in an interim management capacity in the Wycliffe Bible Translators/Summer Institute of Linguistics' printing plant. My responsibilities included technical training and development in press operation and graphic design.

Hands on, practical experience in printing and publishing using cutting edge technology at the time. Waverley Offset Printers introduced the first suburban community weekly newspaper in Australia. It was printed on the first web offset printing machine of its type to be installed in Australia. Other inovation included the installation of one of the first digital typesetting machines in Australia.
