Project manager for cross-disciplinary construction projects, currently managing 12 concurrent projects valued over £2.5m. Main responsibilities including preparation and maintenance of programs (Gantts), preparing and monitoring budgets and cashflows, procurement and value engineering. My role also involves technical advice and problem solving (both scientific and engineering) to design and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery, on budget and on-time.

Scientific researcher leading development of natural swimming pools using biofilters to replace chlorination. Coordinating grant packages, developing new experimental methods, optimising treatment systems and troubleshooting operational issues.

I was a Referee the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) and English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL). This is an enjoyable weekend activity that has supported me throughout university allowing me to earn whilst doing something athletic and enjoyable. Through refereeing I have developed my interpersonal skills and ability to work and make decisions in high pressure environments. Man-management is key, as is conflict resolution, because in such a volatile and high tempo atmosphere a cool head is required to make informed, correct and fast decisions and be able to communicate these clearly and concisely to colleagues and the players. A balance is required to continue the game as a spectacle for the fans, the fairness to both teams and to ensure the game is played in a manner to minimize the risk of injuries by following the rule enforcement guidelines and health and safety requirements for players equipment and the ice facilities.

A BBSRC project funded through the AD Network to develop a new AD reactor configuration to emulate the hydrolytic efficiency of ruminant forestomachs with the target of producing bio-methane or precursors to chemicals to replace oil based intermediaries. Analysing performance, developing modifications and optimising operations. Including both the microbial communities and mechano-chemical interactions. Thus far the project has included: programming (C++ & Python), electronics using an Arduino micro-computer to develop a pH feedback loop to control conditions in the reactor, a PID controlled heating and temperature control system, process engineering to overcome materials handling issues within the reactor and plugging of the circulation system by identifying the root cause, developing and implementing a solution, followed by analysis of preliminary operation of the reactor to produce VFAs and preparation of samples for GC analysis.

Environmental assessments of client sites to investigate potential contamination, categorising appropriate risk classifications and succinctly report the findings.

Data analysis of drilling operations requiring a detailed understanding of the complete drilling and completions operation, technical knowledge, quality and accuracy in data collection. Multi-disciplinary interactions to maximise data collection. Appreciation of all health safety and environmental requirements and how my project could help improve these.On-shore work on test rigs to assess equipment prior to use off-shore.

Slickline operations in Northern British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Preparing, servicing and repairing tools for all downhole operations including plugs, fishing, gauge runs, sand and fluid bailing. Work was performed on drilling and service rigs, as well as off frack set-ups, snubbing sets, coiled tubing and openhole, so a wide range of experience of all facets of well operations was gained.Responsibility for safety on lease including interactions with rig crews when wireline was in operation. Working in difficult conditions whilst maintaining an excellent Health, Safety and Environmental record in-line or exceeding all company policy.Work including training in workplace health and safety, H2S (hydrogen sulphide) hazard training and transport of hazardous goods training.I also gained some experience of E-line work including perforations and gamma logging.
