David is an EVP at Roots Automation. Prior to joining Roots, David was the global sales leader and SVP of Sales at Uptycs, where he built out the global sales team, including SDRs, commercial and enterprise field teams, sales enablement and operations, and cloud solutions sales; and growing 3x in under 2 years. Previously, David was the global sales leader and VP of Sales of DivvyCloud (a start-up acquired by Rapid7) where he again helped grow the company 3x in under 2 years. Prior to joining DivvyCloud, David was the GM at SoftwareONE where he led multiple sales teams during their transformation from a licensing solutions provider to a cloud solutions provider. Previously, David was the co-founder, president and CRO of New Signature. Under his leadership, New Signature (acquired by Cognizant) helped hundreds of companies adopt cloud computing, achieved 12 years of consecutive double-digit revenue growth, and won more than 120 awards including being named twice as Microsoft's United States Partner of the Year—in 2014 and 2015. David has helped lead and found multiple other technology startups including Netstar (acquired by IWM). He is a sales and marketing leader with 20+ years experience who is highly analytical, adaptable, process-driven and focused on driving results through data- and evidence-based strategies, solution-selling, automation, experimentation, and creativity. David was named 2015 Minority Business Leader by Washington Business Journal. The Journal recognized David at their 8th Annual Minority Business Leader Awards program. The award honors his entrepreneurial drive, creativity, and success. In 2012, David was recognized as a leader in the IT industry by being named to CRN’s “30 in Their Thirties” list and was the recipient of the 2015 Minority Business Leader award from the Washington Business Journal. David attended Washington College with a dual focus in both English and Philosophy and a minor in Computer Science.
