Detected lapses in security policies and practices during a security audit of the $1.9 Billion Next-Generation GPS Ground Control Segment (OCX) project. Identified deficiency in code coverage by security-related tests, which led to an increase in coverage from 1% to nearly 99% for over 88 million lines of code. Identified numerous software vulnerabilities in the $1.5 Billion GPS III satellite program. As a remediation, recommended a change in the interface between the ground segment and the space vehicle. This recommendation was accepted by the contractor in whole. It was the first Interface Control Document (ICD) change to a satellite program for a security problem. As a Senior Engineer, mentor junior staff to include dynamic and static environment debugging and code anomaly detection. Wrote a chapter on security risk assessment in a document submitted to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition. The chapter was submitted without corrections. Adopted a risk assessment framework and associated software risk assessment processes. Provided technical advice on over $500K worth of software assurance tools.

Evaluated software designs and implementations to ensure compliance with DoD security standards. Led development of an internal security system comprised of an agent and the Django-based server. Developed software to support various projects including a Navy Medical Research Center’s website and an experimental automated network configuration tool. Assessed software security, software risk, and effectiveness of possible technical and operational mitigations on OCX and GPS III. Advised Air Force Program Management on the above and worked with program management and lead contractor to ensure that fielded systems are secure and accreditable

Responsible for the design and implementation of networked survey programs written in Java and Python-Django. Also responsible for the maintenance of the Economics Laboratory website.

Reviewed and revised a set of coding standards from a software assurance and safety perspective. These standards were to be followed for code written for the Department of Defense's Transformational Satellite(TSAT) program.
