CurrentA child’s zip code or socioeconomic status should never determine the quality of their education.A growing body of research confirms that an arts-integrated education is essential for furthering holistic educational outcomes because it nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression—skills fundamental to a child’s development and success later in life. And yet, an inequitable reality persists, often leaving access to the arts and the transformative experience of artmaking out of reach for those in less affluent areas. For more than 70 years, Young Audiences Arts for Learning has engaged countless millions through creative experiences that inspire young people to believe in the life-changing power of their own education.Founded in 1952, YA is the nation’s oldest and largest arts-in-education provider, annually reaching more than five million students and families in rural, suburban, and urban communities across 27 states. The Young Audiences affiliate network draws upon the talent of more than 4,000 teaching artists from all artistic disciplines, the dedication of over 60,000 educators, and the leadership of hundreds of board members and passionate staff. To learn more about Young Audiences’ mission to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts, please visit: www.youngaudiences.org
