BSc (hons) in Civil Engineering (Edinburgh) after which I joined British Rail. There I became very involved with the new engineering software for design and survey and decided to specialise in this field. I returned to university and gained an MSc in Software Engineering (Glasgow) to follow this career path.I returned to British Rail and following privatisation I became IT Manager (Scotland) for Railtrack.In 1998 I left the Railway industry to set up my own company Modus (Scotland) Ltd to offer a range of IT services, primarily application development.
