Technical Officer
CurrentAs the Technical Officer at the largest landfill in the Southern Hemisphere, my primary focus is on ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations and standards. I work closely with a diverse range of consultants and contractors to implement robust environmental management plans and employ best industry practices to achieve set targets in a timely manner.A significant part of my role involves managing stakeholder relationships, particularly with key regulatory bodies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. I conduct regular audits and inspections, diligently identifying and addressing compliance gaps to ensure our operations meet the highest environmental standards.My strong attention to detail and proactive approach enables me to drive continuous improvement in our processes. By staying up to date with changes in environmental legislation, I ensure our site remains compliant and ahead of industry standards. I prepare and submit detailed reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, providing technical support and guidance to the operations team on environmental matters.Key skills I bring to this role include excellent stakeholder management, analytical problem-solving, and a commitment to sustainable environmental practices.
