Dominique Ginhac is University Professor in Electrical Engineering at University of Burgundy (Dijon). Dr. Ginhac was born in 1972. He received his Master’s Degree in Engineering (1995) followed by a Ph.D in Computer Vision (1999) from the Blaise Pascal University (Clermont-Ferrand). He then joined the University of Burgundy as an assistant professor (2000) and became member of Le2i UMR CNRS 6306 (Laboratory of Electronic, Computing and Imaging Sciences). In 2009, he was promoted Professor and became head of the electrical engineering department (16 teachers-researchers, 23 PhD students). He became deputy director of Le2i in 2011 and director of the lab in 2016. Since 2019, he is member of the ImViA laboratory.He was also a visiting professor from 2007 to 2009 at Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). His research activities were first in the field of rapid prototyping of real-time image processing on dedicated hardware. More recently, he has developed an expertise in the field of image acquisition, design of smart camera, embedded computer vision and real-time artificial intelligence.Currently, he is involved in the Achieve Project, an H2020 MSCA Innovative Training Network for the research on Advanced Hardware/Software Components for Integrated/Embedded Vision Systems in which he develops real-time embedded deep learning technology for human action detection and recognition.Over the past years, he has been involved in the H2020 EXIST project (EXtended Image Sensing Technologies), in the EUREKA CISTERN (CMOS Image Sensor TEchnologies Readiness for Next generation of applications) project, in which he investigated and developed innovative technologies for imaging systems. At a national level, he was also involved in the FUI18 Plein-Phare project, in which he developed innovative High Dynamic Range smart cameras for next generation surveillance systems.He has also been involved in the HIDRALON project of the EUREKA programme CATRENE. HIDRALON (High Dynamic Range Low Noise CMOS imagers) develops new high dynamic range CMOS imagers in order to improve the performance of advanced image recording / capturing systems.Specialties: More than 20 years of experience in the fields of image processing software development and hardware design of smart vision systems. Knowledge and experience in various fields ranging from cognitive processes used in vision to hardware design of embedded real-time vision systems.
