Joined a pioneering and market leading startup commercializing a ‘new to the world’ sensor modality (muon tomography) to the mining industry. Joined when there were fewer than 10 employees, helped grow the company to over 50 people, close the Series A funding round, and establish the manufacturing organization.• Led a 3-year long, $19.2M, multi-organization project consortium with DIGITAL (Digital Technology Supercluster) leading all project governance activities, reporting, and working with our academic and commercial partners (see link below).• Grew and led manufacturing from an initial team of 2 to a team of 12 (manufacturing technicians, supervisor, warehouse attendant, procurement specialist, and project coordinator).• Implemented standardization in manufacturing and other business areas (warehouse, purchasing, etc.) to reduce variability and improve quality.• Led the implementation of parts and materials related infrastructure and processes (bills of material, procurement,warehouse, inventory management, supply chain risk mitigation, etc.) and selected/implemented an MRP.• Provided logistical support to field activities and worked closely with Engineering on device design, design for manufacturing, FMEA and P-FMEA, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. • Worked closely with the Finance and Accounting team to carefully forecast needs and formally track purchase orders, receiving, and invoice payment (implemented many of the foundational tools and processes).• Handled supply chain contracts for manufacturing materials.• Led the RFP, selection, contract negotiation, and initial transition (with Ideon's Engineering Team) for a US-based contract manufacturer (to enable scaling for future growth).• As the Primary Responsible Registrant (EGBC), drafted the initial version of the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) to fulfil the requirements of Ideon's Permit to Practice.

Part of the Technical Programs team within the Regulatory Leadership group, I lead a team of 4 Technical Leaders and 11 Senior Safety Officers overseeing the energy technologies at Technical Safety BC including: - gas, - electrical, - boilers, pressure vessels & refrigeration, and - alternative safety approaches.Provincial Safety Manager for the energy technologies.

Contract position in a senior project/product manager role to support innovation initiatives specifically using machine learning and augmented reality to solve new challenges.Hired to lead an augmented reality innovation project in collaboration with Canada’s Digital Technology Supercluster, Simon Fraser University and Unity Technologies. Budget ~$600K over 9 months.• Negotiated the Master Project Agreement working with multiple stakeholders inside and outside Boeing.• Elaborated the project plan for an innovative augmented reality application that seeks to overcome technical challenges when working with very large objects (e.g., commercial aircraft) using AI.• Led the project consortium and the Boeing development team to achieve project objectives.

I was promoted to lead an amalgamated group covering an expanded number of global markets: civil government, energy, mining, and other commercial markets. Led a team 5 BD/Sales Managers with an extended team of 20+ in operations, R&D, contracts to secure and deliver ~10% of Geospatial Services’ total revenues in a very fast-paced environment.The Energy and Mining team offered a wide-range of space-based remote sensing services to the oil and gas and mining industries across the globe including a number of ground movement, oil-on-water and other mapping products.Some of my tasks and achievements include:• Pursing and winning new recurring revenue business internationally• Designing marketing materials• Establishing pricing models• Promoting products and services at conferences• Developing data product offerings for oil exploration that increased revenues over multiple years. • Evolving core products to better compete in a crowded market.• Building a high performing team culture by introducing an elite-team mentalityWhile leading the business during a challenging time in the sector, I successfully minimized erosion of the business; maintaining annual revenues through retention of key accounts and developing new markets.

I was a member of the MDA Geospatial Services (MDA GSI) business development team charged with managing and growing business for RADARSAT-2 in the offshore energy market (oil and gas offshore operators) through our key offering: oil-on-water detection from space-based radar satellites to support pollution control and exploration.Other key tasks included:• Establishing and managing key customer relationships• Reviewing and facilitating the execution of contracts• Drafting marketing materials, actively developing/promoting products and services at international conferences• Developing pricing models, responding to RFPs, etc. • Preparing proposals and closing contracts with some of the world’s largest oil companies• Navigating through challenging and rigorous procurements across multiple jurisdictions and currencies

Upon moving from MDA Brampton to MDA Richmond, I was assigned as a senior systems engineer to complex international business development initiatives acting as: • Proposal Manager for a cyber-security system proposal for NATO.• Technical Lead for a laser-induced fluorescence standoff bio-aerosol detection system proposal for the U.S. DOD • Management and Estimate Solution Lead for a large land administration system for an Asian national governmentIn these roles, I had the opportunity to:• coordinate with multiple external stakeholders (prime contractors, multiple subcontractors)• navigate the world of complex international agreements (local and international partners, multiple currencies) • develop expertise responding to complex, highly structured procurements

I led the team developing the Mission Operation Station component (software and hardware) of the Next Generation Canadarm Program, an on-orbit satellite servicing prototype for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). I managed a budget of $12M and a team of 10, including a software architect, project engineer, multiple software developers and a software testing team. • Coordinated across functional groups (avionics, systems, etc.) for program requirements and resource allocation.• Met key targets: revenue/budget expectations, customer satisfaction, and adhering to program schedule. During this period, I also contributed to drafting a winning proposal for a 3D microscope concept for planetary exploration.

I joined MDA as member of the technical team supporting the development and operations of the International Space Station (ISS) Mobile Servicing System (MSS) also known as Canadarm2 and Dextre (proudly depicted on the back of the Canadian $5 note since 2013).Starting as a database developer, I was rapidly assigned to lead various projects for the space station program engineering team. I led projects that included up to 30 project team members across various disciplines to complete projects on time/budget.Some of my achievements include:• Project managing multiple releases of the Canadarm2 software including interfacing with our primary customer, the CSA, and the end-user, NASA• Reverse-engineering and re-designing the Canadarm2 interface control document database resulting in a 3-4x performance gain and enhanced reliability, maintainability and usability• Leading the team responsible for updates to NASA’s operational interface computer on the Space Station• Overseeing the development/testing/delivery of critical patches to solve on-orbit failures, software enhancements and configuration file updates to support on-orbit operations• Designing/developing and maintaining various database and software tools to support the program• Taking initiative on quality and continuous improvement to design and implement better tools, coding standards, automated testing, configuration management and knowledge sharing tools. These initiatives created a stronger software development culture and helped the reduce the team’s effort, meet deadlines and improve quality.• Being a founding member of a grass-roots project management community of practice.

Progressed from Technical Specialist to Consultant and eventually Partner for this well-regarded boutique consultancy that primarily provided validation, compliance assessments and project management to the pharmaceutical industry. I also provided IT and industrial automation system integration to broader industry (automotive, food processing, etc.).• Consulted to 16 companies across Canada, US, France, managing projects and client relationships with 5 of these clients. • Led all software-related consulting, validation and development work.• Took on several management accountabilities, assigning and re-assigning staff to projects, coordinating marketing and sales efforts, preparing project proposals and estimates and participating in strategic planning initiatives. • Successfully won work in the US which contributed to a new line of business and tripling of company size.• Supported pharmaceutical customers’ implementation of regulatory guidance through consulting services, equipment commissioning and leading validation teams at pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging operations (cGMP and CFR 21 Part 11).• Designed and developed a software application deployed at multiple customer sites. Built and trained the development team and implemented new software processes. Generated >$1M in incremental revenue.

I was a member of the operations team for a state-of-the-art aluminum facility with a mandate to monitor, optimize, and improve the performance of the electrolysis process. The facility was a pioneer in the use of the AP30 technology operating with direct current at 1,200 volts/300,000 amperes.I engaged in numerous analyses and process improvements that resulted in improved production performance, reduced energy consumption, and life extension of infrastructure.
