I have teaching experience on the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade level in a culturally diverse suburban/urban school district. My experience and passion make me an ideal candidate for a teaching position.I have the training and knowledge to create lesson plans that teach students to creatively analyze and discuss literature, write analytically and creatively, and utilize correct grammar, spelling and writing techniques. I also have the ability to interact positively and engage effectively with students at all levels. While I have taught differing achievement levels of students throughout my 17 years of experience, most recently I have taught advanced level English classes where students are administered a year end exam in order to obtain college credit. My average passing rate over the five years of instruction of the AICE Cambridge International Program of English Language is 89%. This is a rigorous class and a tough exam to pass. I am proud of the level of students who have passed the exam over the years and have been well-prepared for college level writing and thinking. In addition to the items mentioned above, I have the patience and dedication needed to work with teenagers, and I enjoy working with them. I am well-organized and have excellent classroom management skills, maintaining an orderly and safe learning environment for all students.
