I am an expert at building the hyperscale infrastructure that is AI and the Cloud. I was the only Google Engineering Director to be a part of both Google Global Networking and Google Data Centers Advanced Technology Innovation team. I've been a Technical Lead on the design, engineering and build team responsible for over $25b of hyperscale data centers - thousands of megawatts. This has given me a deep understanding of hyperscale end-user design, experience, and expectations. I provide technical, project, and people leadership across the cloud, data centers, and Internet sectors. My value is providing engineering, product, and operations vision at the intersection of hyperscale data centers, AI/ML and global networks. I'm a plan/build/operate executive with a broad range of industry experience. My expertise extends from the highly technical to the operational, and deep into finance. My three most significant innovations have been the popularization of the (now dominant) Donut model of Internet interconnection which supplanted the former Tier-n model of interconnect; the most historically advantageous Ashburn, VA data center land deal, NTT's 100 acre campus in the middle of Ashburn for $20m in 2012 - land with an objective value of $500m; and the development of engineering continuous improvement techniques to vastly accelerate deployments in hyperscale data centers by factors of up to 5x. A constant focus on innovation combined with an ability to recruit highly effective engineering and project management staff have resulted in outsized financial returns for my partners and customers.
