An experienced, opinionated, and hard working IT professional with a reputation for finding and implementing innovative and low cost solutions to tough IT challenges. I became a credit card fraud victim in late 2011. I'm still mad about that because the crooks are still roaming the internet. By early 2014, I was also frustrated with headline after headline about companies who allowed attackers to steal my personal information. And, so I decided to stop whining and start doing something about it. I wrote “Bullseye Breach: Anatomy of an Electronic Break-In” to show how Russian mobsters stole forty million customer credit card numbers from fictional retailer, Bullseye Stores. And “Virus Bomb” shows what might happen if attackers really do get serious about penetrating an industry and stealing secrets.Let's fight back together. Here's a link to my book page with more info: http://dgregscott.com/books/

In "Trafficking U," A chance encounter plunges bank fraud analyst, Jesse Jonsen, out of her white-collar office into a street battle against sex traffickers and her own life choices. In "Virus Bomb" and "Bullseye Breach," middle-aged, bald-headed, Minnesota IT contractor, Jerry Barkley, is no superhero. He never worked for the government. He has no insider connections, he was never part of any think tank, and he wasn’t president of anything in high school or college. In "Bullseye Breach: Anatomy of an Electronic Break-In," after buying a box of cereal at Minneapolis based retailer, Bullseye Stores, Jerry became another victim after Russian mobsters invaded over the internet to steal forty million customer credit card numbers. But Jesse and Jerry taught the Russians they picked on the wrong victims.A few years later, after uncovering the largest cyberattack in history in "Virus Bomb," Jerry found a way to shut down the follow-on biological attack. Thousands of people lived because Jerry took action, even after nobody believed his warnings.Maybe Jerry really is a superhero. Because real superheroes are ordinary people who step up. Even when they don’t want to."Trafficking U," "Virus Bomb," and "Bullseye Breach; Anatomy of an Electronic Break-In" are available at booksellers everywhere. Enjoy the fiction. Use the education. I really can help your company do more with less.http://www.infrasupport.comI can build your virtual infrastructure the conventional way using proprietary, expensive tools. I can also build your virtual infrastructure using open source and much less expensive tools from Red Hat. If you're serious about doing more with less you should contact me. If you want to be in the cloud, your Internet connection is no longer just nice to have, it's your lifeline. If that Internet connection drops, so does your company. This means you need a backup Internet connection and a router that knows how to deal with backup Internet connections. I can help you set up an expensive, conventional, proprietary router, or if you're serious about doing more with less, I can set up a better router based on Red Hat open source technology. The Minnesota OAC was a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting military families in the US with loved ones serving overseas via video teleconference. Ran several large family video teleconference events with the US Marines and Minnesota National Guard at venues including the Minnesota Twins, Gophers, and Vikings, the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul Saints, Serving our Troops, Tee it up for the Troops, and Tailgating with the Troops. Also connected dozens of families over the years in smaller, private settings, including one live birth at a local Twin Cities hospital. OAC in Minnesota eventually went dormant. Independent of the Minnesota OAC, another group with the same name started up in the San Diego area, with a mission to pack and ship care packages to the troops. When the Minnesota and San Diego OAC organizations learned about each other, the Minnesota OAC officially disbanded and gave the San Diego OAC its logo and name with its blessing. Today, Linda Millimaki and her group are doing great work and I count Linda as a good friend.I continue to run free video events for Military families with Tee it up for the Troops, Fishing for Life, and other groups as needed.
