Lead developer of Oracle’s Internet of Things (IoT) Java and Android client library, working closely with architect to define and vet functionality and public API. Implementation hides details of secure, bidirectional communication with Oracle’s IoT cloud via RESTful services over HTTP and MQTT. The Java client library serves as a reference implementation for ports to Python, iOS, C, and JavaScript. Source is publicly available. As member of JavaFX development team, developed the entire JavaFX CSS implementation, including a CSS parser, selector matching algorithm, pseudo-state handling, high-performance style cache, the JavaFX CSS reference document, and the javafx.css public API. Prior to JavaFX, worked on Project Acadia, the ill–fated GSM telephony project at Sun Microsystems that was eclipsed by Android. Was responsible for carrying forward the GSM telephony work from SavaJe, and also for packet and circuit switched networking, such as developing a GSM 07.10 mux as a Linux driver.

Designed and developed code in Java and C to support telephony, video telephony, packet data services, and circuit switched data services for a Java based, mobile phone OS. Principal developer for supplementary services and dial-up networking.

Performed root-cause analysis of 1xEV-DO protocol implementation problems for in-service switches to ensure continued operation. Gained new respect for second-line support.
