The Director of Communications and Development provides communications and fundraising leadership to the three divisions of the City of Montpelier’s Community Services Department: Recreation, Montpelier Senior Activity Center, and Parks and Trees. The Director of Communications and Development is a member of the Community Services Department Leadership Team, developing high-level strategy to provide financial support for Community Services programs and operations and to increase engagement with the Department’s programs.

- Primary responsibility for management of programs, schedules, communications, and fundraising at a dynamic community center serving over 1,100 members aged 50+. - Increased fundraising by 600% in 3 years. - Oversaw more than 130 hours of weekly programs, supervising 40+ contract instructors and volunteers. -Used a data-driven approach to strategically grow programming during time of significant membership growth. - Established partnerships with community organizations to enhance programming.
