• Manage the operations of the Insurance Compliance Department team;• Implement a market conduct risk based supervisory approach of supervision for long and short term Insurers;• Investigate complaints of non-compliance with insurance legislation, and liaise with the offices of the various Ombuds;• Oversee and conduct on-site compliance visits where applicable based on policy and risk based supervision approach;• Assist the Head by recommending and implementing changes to the regulatory framework and policy within the FSB and in view of the “Twin Peaks” regime; and• Manage the human resource of the team effectively and efficiently (train and develop, monitor, lead and assess performance of staff).• Conduct onsite visits with other regulatory bodies such as the Financial Intelligence Centre to monitor aspects of non-compliance with The Financial Intelligence Centre Act• Conduct meetings with industry bodies such as ASISA, SAIA, SARB and the Compliance Institute of SA to ensure compliance and oversight of the financial services industry.
