I was on 1 month contract and my role involved entering and uploading invoices into the accounting system along with sorting, coding and matching invoices to purchase orders. I also reviewed all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Furthermore, it is my responsibility to process invoices for payment once approval is obtained and process electronic transfers. I was also involved in preparing & performing reconciliations between payments, invoices & vendor statements. Lastly, it is my responsibility to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.

The role involved general administrative duties such as handling mail,scanning and copying documents along with maintaining store supplies including stationery and sales records. Furthermore, I was involved in matching inventory received with invoices & purchase orders and following up on any discrepancies. I was also in charge of preparing cheque payments for inventory invoices & general expenses, banking cash received from store sales and preparing the weekly payroll payments for staff.

Lautoka

As an Accounts Officer, I was primarily involved with performing key tasks such as reconciling Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss General Ledger Accounts along with preparing and processing journal entries relating to accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and supplier invoices etc. Additionally, I was responsible for processing, analysing and reconciling Payroll payments, preparing financial year-end accounts and assisting in reporting period audits. I also have experience in preparing monthly taxation deductions- e.g. PAYE, ACC Levy, SNPF and lodging statutory returns.

Fiji

My key responsibilities for the role were to greet and assist customers, handle sales transactions, maintain cash registers, manage cash from sales and balance cash drawers. Along with this, I was in charge of maintaining a record of daily sales, assisting the store manager in selecting new stock based on current sales trends & customer needs and perform stocktakes on a regular basis.

As part of this role I was responsible for performing a wide range of tasks such as payroll processing, reconciliations, recording sales and managing supplier payments.
