About Dharani Jayanna

Hi there! I am currently a doctoral student in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Aerospace Control. My passion lies in designing and developing control systems for aircraft, spacecraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). I'm currently researching advanced guidance, navigation, and control techniques for fully actuated UAVs under the guidance of Prof. Marco Lovera, with a focus on improving the safety and reliability of these systems.Throughout my academic career, I've gained extensive knowledge and experience in control theory, flight dynamics, and system identification. I'm also well-versed in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C++. I am eager to connect with fellow professionals in the aerospace industry, including researchers, engineers, and project managers, to share knowledge and collaborate on cutting-edge technologies. If you're interested in discussing aerospace control or related topics, please don't hesitate to reach out!

A methodology for identifying the wake dynamics of a cylinder was developed by constructing a reduced-order model from time-resolved flow data obtained through PIV measurements at Reynolds 1000. The resulting Galerkin model incorporates mathematical constraints, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the flow physics underlying the system. This approach represents a significant contribution to the field, as it enables the exploration of the fundamental dynamics of fluid flow in a novel… Show more A methodology for identifying the wake dynamics of a cylinder was developed by constructing a reduced-order model from time-resolved flow data obtained through PIV measurements at Reynolds 1000. The resulting Galerkin model incorporates mathematical constraints, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the flow physics underlying the system. This approach represents a significant contribution to the field, as it enables the exploration of the fundamental dynamics of fluid flow in a novel way and has the potential to facilitate the development of more precise models for predicting the behavior of similar nonlinear dynamic systems. The project titled "Control of Air Conditioning System with Large Hysteresis" is my master's research project with the aim of modeling and control of nonlinear systems. Initially, the system is analyzed by defining the mathematical hysteresis model and validated by verifying the numerical consistency. Later, the inverse model is developed to establish the feedforward control mechanism in Matlab Simulink. Now currently working to develop the state-space model of the nonlinear system by studying… Show more The project titled "Control of Air Conditioning System with Large Hysteresis" is my master's research project with the aim of modeling and control of nonlinear systems. The project entitled "Analysis and Control of Flow-field in a Dual Mode Ramjet engine" is my bachelor's thesis project under Dr. Amit Thakur. In this project, the 2D RANS CFD simulation of a DMRJ engine in non-reacting, Ramjet, and Scramjet modes of operation using Ansys Fluent module is carried out. Analysis of combustion modes and validation of results were performed. Active flow control method was also enforced.

Worked in the field of Vibration under Dr. C. V. Chandrashekara on the defective simple structures extensively using MATLAB software analytically, then simulated using ANSYS Modal analysis and finally validated results using Siemens LMS TestLab software (Impact Module). Various dynamic characteristics of the beam are studied demonstrating the effectiveness of the defect in the structure.
