Rangotri started a studio in a house built around a mango tree in 1991. Since then Industry have been designing and crafting block-printed textiles. Across two factories, one design studio, and a warehouse, all in India, and have a diverse team of about 150 employees, on a mission: to create products of beauty and integrity, while designing, manufacturing, and running our business in a way that’s better for society and our planet.

‘Rang’ means colour and ‘Tantra’ means principle, system or doctrine. Rangtantra as the name suggests, is the design development, research and resource centre of Rangotri.In Rangtantra most of the designs printed in Sanganer are documented along with tools and old fragments of printed textiles of this area. Along with it, it has largest collection of blocks which are been collected from all possible centres of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Andhra Pradesh and places like Kashmir etc. Rangtantra has large collection of printed textiles from these centres and also some textiles from Indonesia
