I have witnessed the tremendous growth of Indian retail industry up, close and personal in a career spanning 16 years, working with some of the most respected brands in the space. My key focus areas are general business management, retail operations and merchandising. I have consciously worked across various retail formats right from value formats (Big Bazaar) to department store chain (Shoppers Stop), to premium lifestyle brands (Wills Lifestyle/Raymonds). As part of one of India’s biggest retail brand, the Future Group, I was responsible for its fashion business at fbb. I worked closely on the concept of reinventing fashion business at Big Bazaar working on the idea of making India thoda aur stylish. The idea was to change the consumer perception of fashion at Big Bazaar, from selling clothes to selling fashion, covering all from masses to classes. Making fashion affordable to all, and making a statement of it was an exciting challenge of the job. For this, I had the opportunity to work closely in engaging consumers with the brand in its new avatar, and collaborating with FBB Femina Miss India pageant. Handling exclusive brand outlets and multiple brand outlets, hiring talent and ensuring smooth store operations in the entire Western region formed an integral part of my job.
