The MAKO team is responsible for building the UI, systems, and services required to sell all of Amazon's hardware products and accessories (e.g., Kindle readers, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Echo, and Dash Button).As the Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) on this team, my responsibilities are to- Represent the engineering team when working with partners and stakeholders.- Develop processes to improve the efficiency of the engineering team. This ranges from formalizing a feature request process to standardizing project management to ensuring that we have the right level of coverage before deploying a change to production.- Prioritize my team's work- Build and manage the engineering roadmap: which features are we delivering on what schedule?- Work closely with Software Development Managers to lead engineering designs/architectures- Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Marketers, and others outside of engineering to ensure that we are doing what is best for our customers and Amazon.- Coordinate with partners/stakeholders in all 13 countries in which Amazon sells its devices- Drive alignment with other teams across Amazon- Mentor members of the teamSpecifically, I am leading major investments in the following areas:- Redesigning the mobile experience. My team built new experiences for comparison charts, navigation, and upselling accessories.- Building a mobile version of a device selection page called "Configurator", which existed only on desktop. On desktop, we saw an increase in sales of up to 5% and expect similar results on mobile.- Improving the pay-by-installments feature- Enhancing the detail pages for all Amazon devices.

- Led the engineering team responsible for building developer tools focused on designing and testing speech in apps/games for Xbox One- Spearheaded the speech data collection efforts, resulting in millions of speech samples collected from real Xbox customers- Worked closely with key internal and external partners to ensure the Xbox One speech platform met their needs- Led the effort to create a holistic developer experience around Kinect. Responsibilities included closely partnering with external partners to understand their scenario and driving the NUI organization to deliver a platform and tools to support those scenarios.- Engaged with developer partners to understand their pain points and developed strategies for addressing them.- Drove the development of code samples and forums for Kinect for Windows v2.

* Led the engineering effort to rearchitect the Windows Phone Marketplace application purchase flow* Drove the end-to-end effort across Microsoft to redesign the mobile operator billing flow. The work focused on enhancing the end user experience, stability, and scalability of the system.* Led the engineering effort to on-board Orange UK and France for mobile operator billing.* Redesigned a mobile payments platform with the goal of improving the robustness, scalability, and agility of the Windows Phone Marketplace* Engaged with counterparts in engineering, Finance, and legal to deliver an improved ISV payouts system that works worldwide
