Material Handling Equipment(Mhe) Maintenance Lead

Pae

Bagram, Afghanistan

Assigned to operate within a team environment to perform inspection, diagnostics, parts acquisition and repair of over 100 pieces of flight line equipment including 2k-10k forklifts, aircraft tugs and aircraft cargo loaders within a deployed setting. I was immediately called upon to utilize exceptional electrical and hydraulic knowledge to elevate the readiness of government equipment above 90% in order to reach previously established contractual obligations. Organized and maintained Hazmat, assigned as assistant fire safety officer, established daily tasks and priorities for the maintenance team. Currently possess all passport, visa and and security clearance requirements for operation within Afghanistan.

Jan 2017 - Aug 2018

Heavy Equipment Maintenance Lead

Austin, Tx

Tasked with the organization and implementation of a maintenance program within a company that had previously neglected this area. Had to rapidly acquaint myself with new pieces of equipment and was able to identify potential equipment modifications that aided in extending the life expectancy of said equipment. Appointed to perform inspection, diagnostics, parts acquisition and repair of twenty pieces of equipment spanning over eight different diesel vehicle and heavy machinery platforms. Designed PMCS program specifically tailored to the needs of the company and maintained a 0% overdue service rating throughout my tenure. Worked closely with all company departments and outside vendors to expedite parts acquisition and ensure timely repair of equipment. Educated employees on the proper operator level maintenance and operation in order to minimize avoidable damage to company assets. Promoted a “Be proactive rather than reactive” mentality within the maintenance program.

May 2016 - Jan 2017

Industrial & Heavy Equipment Superintendent

Anchor-Industrial

Texas

Upon initial employment, I was hired on as a Mobile Equipment Technician in the oil industry traveling throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. I was tasked with the complete inspection, preventative maintenance, diagnostic and repair of over thirty pieces of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment, with a total approximate value of over five million dollars. This was in addition to a number of industrial rail yard silo plants with a value of ten to fifteen million dollars each. This started as a small company (<10 employees) where I was able to immediately improve productivity by 40%. Due to minimal employees and high customer demand, I frequently worked long and inconsistent hours; at times up to 24 hour shifts. During these shifts I had many different responsibilities such as: repair of all equipment, parts acquisition, inventory and customer relations. Throughout my tenure the company went through two changes in ownership and I was able to grow from a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to a supervisory role through constant professional growth and knowledge expansion.

Jun 2014 - May 2016

Diesel Shop Supervisor, 801St Brigade Support Battalion (Bsb)

Fort Campbell, Ky

During my tenure with the U.S. Army I was tasked with the unforgettable opportunity to train and lead approximately thirty different soldiers in all aspects of diesel maintenance. This was one of the most enjoyable and possibly most stressful times of my career. Due to high deployment rates and constant relocation of personnel we had a high rotation of new management and employees frequently coming through the unit. With this inherently comes the necessity to be able to integrate and work effectively with a diverse workforce from many different backgrounds. I was directly responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance program on a fleet of over fifty pieces of military equipment to include: light and heavy diesel vehicles and military heavy equipment. Notwithstanding a consistent lack of communication from upper management to lower (which any Army veteran can verify is abundant) and a necessary strict adherence to company guidelines for all aspects of work, my team was able to maintain a 100% PM completion rate and over 95% readiness rate of all pieces of equipment. I was awarded two Army Achievement Medals and one Army Commendation medal at this position.

Apr 2010 - Jun 2014

Diesel Maintenance Shop Foreman, 801St Brigade Support Battalion (Bsb)

Afghanistan

During my final deployment to Afghanistan, I was trusted with the responsibility of building a military maintenance program from the ground up. In doing this I had to set many systems in place such as a vehicle maintenance tracker, preventative maintenance system, work-order tracker, reporting system and a parts inventory and tracking system. When all was said and done communication and visibility of the fleet status was improved by 100%. Within this position I was faced with multiple challenges, possibly the most difficult being that the immediate management within my area of operation had zero military maintenance experience. That being said, I was able to maintain outstanding working relationships with civilian contractors and other military personnel in the surrounding area to leverage outside assets in the completion of our mission.
