This causes fluorescent emission at acceptor emission wavelengths when excited with donor absorption wavelengths.This property can be used in many different ways like detection of protein-protein interactions with the cell at different stages, Cell cell signaling and cell matrix interaction especially in cancer cells, Immuno-assay and nucleic acid hybridization. We (at the research lab in work) have two fluorophores specific locus on the Dirofilaria immitus genome. Once both the fluorophores hybridize (specific only for D.immitus) it gives a specific color under the microscope. We have been studying various parameters like concentration of DNA or primers, hybridization conditions, sensitivity and specificity of the system.

They act as environmental sensors of oxygen,nitrogen and other molecules in the environment, activating specific genes.Creation of chimeric proteins fastens and broadens our understanding of ligand binding and DNA activation. So CRP chimeras where created with known ligand binding domain and unknown DNA binding domain and vice-versa. They were sent for physiological analysis of genes activated by transcriptional activation.Inter-species CRP complimentation could be a difficult task because high CRP activity is lethal. The hypothesis is that the high transcriptional activation of certain genes causes death of bacteria. This lead us to randomize two specific amino acid positions on the CRP protein creating a range of CRP activity. Single cells can be isolated from given tissue using MMI laser capture micro-dissection (LCM). Most common applications of LCM are dissection of cancer cells. Cancer cells were fixed on slides and specific cells were dissected and collected in vials for further analysis. MMI Micro-selection involved selection of live cells for a suspension. Various different cells ranging from highly motile sperm and algae cells to non motile cells were isolated on ampligrid and single cell PCR was performed.
