About Dheeghayu Kusaladarma

I am a passionate and self-motivated Biomedical Engineer and a cofounder of Efyra, a medical device start-up through The University of Melbourne’s BioDesign Innovation program. I am committed to enhancing the cost-effectiveness of modern healthcare systems by bridging the gap between the rapid growth in scientific knowledge and the development of increasingly complex technologies.I possess practical experience from planning and analysis to design and testing activities of a novel urological device. I was recently awarded the Endeavour Research, Innovation, and Commercialisation Award in recognition of my master’s project which has been acknowledged for demonstrating creative engineering design to drive commercial potential. I am currently prototyping the minimal viable product for formative usability studies to obtain clinician feedback. As an engineer, I have experienced tremendous growth through diverse avenues. Alongside my academic projects, I've pursued self-learning in PCB design, CAD-based 3D modeling, fabrication using additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques, and self-paced Arduino projects. These endeavors have proved immensely rewarding, shaping my professional development.
