As Senior Systems Consultant at RouteSmart Technologies, Inc., I helped clients implement RouteSmart products. I became highly familiar with their environments, day-to-day operations, and business challenges that called for route optimization.I wrote specifications for new features to enhance RouteSmart products and created client services procedures that standardized RouteSmart’s implementation methodology.Additionally, I developed implementation and training materials, and led training classes through Routing University, RouteSmart’s continuing education and learning platform. Courses range from the basics of RouteSmart software to focused training on specific features and functions. Close interaction with customers at a training level influenced my subsequent roles at the company.

UPS Logistics Technologies was a business unit of United Parcel Service. It provided transportation and logistics solutions, including vehicle route optimization, automated strategic territory planning, and vehicle location/wireless dispatching systems to distribution services companies. Clients ranged from small operations to Fortune 500 companies and included major global food service, beverage, security, and health care organizations. As Senior Systems Consultant, I supervised the unit’s consulting team and managed consultant schedules, training, and administration. Other consulting and supervisory aspects of my role included:• Leading several key initiatives, including implementation of a new delivery tracking system, transportation logistics, and strategic planning.• Preparing detailed analysis reports for major clients to streamline the transportation department.• Creating user documentation customized to each client’s particular requirements.Two noteworthy accomplishments during my tenure included leading the consulting team in billable projects for the period of 2001-2003 and winning the Annual Consulting Excellence Award in 2003.

As Director of Product Development at Training Technologies, I was the primary architect and developer for all computer-based-training programs for this creator of computer-based training programs, training videos, and marketing videos. I quickly learned development tools in order to bring the company’s products to the transportation and health care markets on time.Other aspects of this role included:• Supervising a team of technical writers, programmers, and artists to ensure projects met strict deadlines and budgets.• Writing scripts for computer-based training modules and training videos.• Evaluating new purchases of software for design of CBT modules, including authoring, graphics and database software.• Managing quality assurance on all products.Working with clients in the transportation industry, including GE Transportation Systems, General Motors, and several national railroads, helped lay the groundwork for my subsequent position at UPS Logistics Technologies.

Wix Pix provides video, photography, interactive, animation, and new media services to advertising, public relations, and graphic design agencies, corporations, and private institutions. As Training Development, Writer/Producer, I wrote, produced, and directed television programs, commercials, instructional videos, and marketing videos for local and national corporations. I served as 3D animator and editor on computer-based video editing systems to create 3D animations used in these productions.My BA in Communications from Penn State University had a concentration in video and audio production, so this position was a natural career progression. I have applied the video production, product marketing, and creative writing experience gained at Wix Pix to my current and past roles at RouteSmart.

After earning a BA in Communications from Penn State University (with a minor in Business Administration), working for WRTA News Talk 1240 not only honed my public speaking skills, but also gave me an opportunity to apply the advertising and marketing principles I learned in college. The position also strengthened my hard work ethic, which I have applied to every position I have held throughout my career.
