About Muhammad Dhiya Rahman
Dhiya Md also known as M-D-R-N, is currently an adjunct lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts under the School of Spatial & Product Design, School of Design Communication and the Mc Nally School of Fine Arts. Besides teaching, he is also one of the founding partners of STUDIO SWELL, a graphic design studio based in Singapore and he runs a small studio of 'Objects and Things' over in Johor Bahru, Malaysia listed as DirtyDustyDazyDays.His interests lies in the intersections of art, design, science and technology and his is works explores the areas of visual communications, art practices, DIY approaches, material exploration, crafting techniques, lab and workshop practices, as well as digital and analogue tools reflective through his graphics, prints, objects and structures.Dhiya frequently works with the Media Lab at LASALLE for collaborations on performances and art installations and occasionally VJ with audio-reactive visuals. He enjoys leading workshop based practicums, constantly experiments with form and function as well as conceptualise, design, build and shape surfboards under the label THPGHANDSHAPES.Dhiya has participated in numerous exhibitions and events from 2010 till present locally and internationally.
