I worked in Pilot Plant - my days were split between Large Scale Fermentation in CHO cell culture and E. Coli operations. I usually worked on processes from the 10L scale to the 1000L scale but I frequently assisted with culture maintenance on 20L seed train bioreactors as well. I monitored in-process vessels, performed daily cell counts and submitted samples (cell culture, rinse water, etc) for testing, batched supplemental media for cell growth and frequently performed Clean-In-Place and Steam-In-Place of stainless steel equipment for turn around post-process. I also worked with Single Use Bioreactors for scale up and perfusion studies.

I worked in Large Scale Fermentation on CHO Cell Culture's D2 shift at the 80L to 12000L scale; I monitored in-process bioreactors, performed cell counts and submitted samples (cell culture, rinse water, etc) for validation, I batched supplemental media for cell growth, Clean-In-Place and Steam-In-Place stainless steel bioreactors for turn around post-process and conducted our weekly 5S audits and walkthroughs. I was also a Validated Visual Inspector for post process cleanings.

I assisted staff veterinarians execute treatment plans by performing venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, radiology set up and positioning, surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring utilizing aseptic technique, basic cytological collection and interpretation and administering intravenous, intramuscular, transdermal, and subcutaneous injections. For emergency services, the San Carlos Pet Hospital is available 24hours a day, 7 days a week.

Great clinic with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dr. Bates is an extremely knowledgeable and highly experienced Veterinarian who treats birds, reptiles and pocket pets in addition to dogs and cats. Dr. Greenspan is an amazing recent graduate from UC Davis.
