Managing the replatforming of the Westpac GDW from Oracle to Teradata as the current technology is aged and complex, consisting of around 70,000 objects. The program carries strategic weight and required remediation to ensure success in a highly involved environment. The GDW Delivery team comprises of about 50 people from multiple onshore and offshore locations and represents Westpac, Teradata, partners, and contractors. Although the implementation has faced numerous difficulties specific to the environment the team has thus far delivered consistent results. This can in part be attributed to significant effort to implement effective ways of work based on agile methodologies.The sheer size of the GDW and associated complexity demands effective management and processes to deliver quality outcomes that engender confidence with the stakeholders and affected parties.

Managed the selection process for a new MPP and Big Data platform for the IAG Group IM and Direct Insurance as part of the multi-year transformation program across the organisation. The role included vendor engagement and running a RFI process that ensured the needs of the entire Group is catered for.Final recommendation was made for the vendor selection and a POC established to prove the solution fit for purpose for general data warehousing and BI, as well as serving the advanced analytical community.
