Connecting the dots – defines the story of my life and the way I work and operate.I am the CEO of Therefore Design, but design happened to me by providence, when I took up my first job, doing PR for a design company. Akin to mass communication (in which I did my post grad) the world of design, presents me with the possibility of working at the intersection of business, people and creativity / innovation. The difference is that with design and design thinking tools, there is an opportunity to shape the fundamentals of a business, brand, service, product or policy.It’s been 18 years, but, this ability to impact the core and work on intersectionality and interdependencies is something that excites and challenges me everyday.Working with businesses of different scale from established conglomerates, to HUFs and start-ups, across a wide variety of industries, has contributed to building a rich powerhouse of knowledge and insights that I leverage for my clients. Here, connecting the dots means finding patterns and insights to craft the bigger picture for a business.Marcel Masse, a Canadian politician, famously said "the more the world is specialized, the more it will be run by generalists". I’ve always had a broad spectrum of interests, and delved deeply into psychology and sociology while pursuing a bachelors in commerce. Back then what was pursuit of passion, today holds me in good stead whether I’m in a boardroom discussing strategy or speaking to consumers in their homes.I strongly believe in the power of human connection to propel growth and actively seek openings to make connections that bring forth new horizons.My role as CEO, has deepened my understanding and respect for business owners, the challenges and dilemmas they face in this ever changing and ever evolving market. Balancing business metrics, running optimal operations, managing people’s aspirations and building a brand is not for the faint hearted.My focus both as a CEO leading Therefore Design, and as your go-to brand partner is to leverage the power of design thinking and a deep understanding of consumer behaviour to imagine futures and craft solutions that enable you to stay ahead of the curve.My personal vision is to create a world of possibilities by leveraging the power of design thinking.
