Dan comes from a diverse, multi-cultural background, his family tree spanning two continents (Russia and Bangladesh), which has inspired his creativity to attack world-wide problems like climate change, energy independence, and global healthcare. In addition, he advices, consults, and serves as a patent agent to fellow entrepreneurs and inventors.Dan was educated at MIT in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and computer science, and also studied law at Harvard Law School, theoretical geophysics at University of Cambridge, and environmental engineering at Carnegie Mellon.Dan won the Siemens Westinghouse National Science Award, a national award given to one team in the United States for engineering excellence. According to Science Magazine, this is “a junior Nobel Prize.” He worked on applying biological evolutionary theories to finding efficient hashing functions for unstructured data sets.Dan is a founder or co-founder of multiple companies through his American Pioneer Ventures, a startup fund, and his American Patent Agency PC, a patent firm, which have included Pioneer Energy, Salesforce.com, Mixbook.com, Sliver.TV, Cambridge Electronics, Loom, and many other Silicon Valley and other high tech companies as its clients.Dan worked for NASA, at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD on techniques for sending satellite image data to mobile devices. Dan also worked for Siemens Corporation in the Siemens Corporate Research division developing techniques for 3D image registration of 3D image data from Siemens’ latest 3D image sensor.Dan previously worked for the law firm Frommer, Lawrence, and Haug, LLP, a New York patent boutique firm, where he obtained patents for Siemens, Sony, and other international companies, and assisted with patent litigation.Dan is registered to practice before the United States Patent Office, and represents clients in many diverse fields.
