When you love what you do...... it doesn't feel like a job. Doing things smarter is a continuous journey, learning every day as much from our mistakes as from our wins and listening to those around you be they colleagues, customers, family, suppliers and more. And nowadays there are AI tools to inform where best to invest to maximise the investment organisations make.My career started back in the 1980s when I was an industrial chemist. I can still recall a thing or two about polymers, pesticides, dissolves chlorines and gold mining waste. Having burnt the lab coat I got involved in business change, M&A, organisational redesign, customer experience design…..basically the things that keep an organisation growing. Which all sounds impressive but really was, and is, all about understanding what an organisation wants to be and making sure the process are in place for the awesome people employed to make the vision zing. I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing organisations doing a whole range of things that have helped them to work smarter, save money, be more profitable and ensure they have happy people coming through the doors each morning. That's employees and customers. Over the last 30 years or so, I've also coached and mentored many people at all levels in organisations and I’m grateful that many stay in touch to this day. Being asked to support the next generation through Young Enterprise and my local FE College is humbling and very exciting too. And I also champion emotional and mental health awareness and I am an Associate for WellCrowd, an AI driven technology that unlocks access to an organisations existing EAP system and where specific services are not provided there, we fill the gap.
