I've always been interested in people: how we think, act, and communicate with each other. This is why I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Through completing my degree, I learned that even the littlest things in life can affect someone in a huge way, so whether I'm just a listening ear or an actively guiding voice, I would like to be there for people.Post-graduation, I decided to shift gears away from psychology and dive into the world of cosmetology, which seems like a total 180° turn, but these two fields are more connected than one might initially think. Not only will I get the chance to express my creativity, but I will be able to unlock aspects of my clients' personalities that they have been striving to show off. Part of the way people communicate is through self-expression; showing off their inner selves to convey their values and approaches to life. Self-expression includes the words people say, the actions they make, and also the way they appear to the outside world; thus, by becoming a cosmetologist, I will be able to tap into that desire for my clients to be as true to themselves on the outside as they are on the inside.
