I Provide Technical Support to individuals as well as professionals on the Island of Karpathos, Greece. I also sell Notebooks, peripherals, PCs, cables, printing consumables, Cash Registers. I install and maintain Operating Systems as well as Software - as needed by the customer. I setup and secure routers for Internet Connections. Finally, I am part of a Web Designing Team who provide Internet solutions in LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP).

I was responsible for maintaining the Solaris servers' system underlying the Ministry's Web interface as well as the LAN used by all offices and Port Authorities in Greece. That included updates, patches, user administration, bash script writing, daily backups, security updates, firewall tuning, activities logging and intrusion detection. I was also responsible of a "on the spot" team who provided help on the various troubles occurring in several Port Authorities around Greece.

With a colleague of mine we created - from scratch - the Rhodes Central Port Authority LAN and were responsible for its connection with the Ministry's LAN. I made all the necessary physical connections (LAN clips) as well as the IP addressing, switches and router configurations. After the "installation" of the hosts (about 20), I was responsible for the maintenance, the user administration and security and firewall rules necessary. Finally, I was responsible for connecting all hosts to the various applications and databases used by the Ministry of Mercantile Marine for civilians and seamen.
