My name is Diamond Guy, and I am an MS4 at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I am passionate about making healthcare more accessible to people of underserved communities, similar to ones in my city.During my career, I plan to conduct translational research to discover cures for inflammatory dermatologic conditions to improve patient outcomes. In preparation, I have been involved in research since undergraduate school. From clinical science to basic science research projects, some of which have been published and presented at national conferences.In addition to research, I enjoy serving the inner city of Rochester, NY (a medically underserved area). At UR Well (Student run clinics), I serve as a co - dermatology clinic coordinator. May of 2023, I launched a community outreach initiative called ROCDermEd where medical students and dermatologists teach the community about dermatologic health and skin cancer prevention. We are fortunate to have several community partners and sunscreen sponsors.Extracurricular-wise, I joined the Deaf Health Pathway to learn about Deaf culture, health disparities, and medical American Sign Language to utilize in future clerkships and patient encounters.
