My scientific interests and area of expertise are in the genetic causes of cancer and the development of precision medicines as treatment options for the future. I am passionate about supporting the careers of the brightest minds in research and clinical cancer care in Australia and supporting research that expands our understanding of cancer and the development of new treatments and therapies.

The Leukaemia Foundation has been supporting Australian blood cancer research for over 20 years, investing over $50 million into research since 2002. Our overarching aim is to fund high-impact research by concentrating our resources on projects with broad potential for all people living with blood cancer.We support medical research that drives rapid advancements in treatments, encourages the careers of promising scientists, discovers new diagnostics, precision medicines and novel therapies, and gives Australians access to global clinical trials.As National Head of Research I am responsible for developing and managing the Leukaemia Foundation National Research Program portfolio from PhD Scholarships and Early Career grants through to our larger Strategic Ecosystem Research Grants, Translational Research Program Grants (in collaboration with LLS and the Snowdome Foundation) and Clinical Trials.

As the regional program manager I oversaw the AusAID/DFAT $59 million, HIV/AIDS harm reduction program (HAARP) in Lao, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and China. My role was to manage in-country AusAID HAARP teams to work with UNAIDS, UNODC and the WHO and health departments to implement the program in each country. I was responsible for technical, program and financial oversite to all five countries in addition to reporting to AusAID executive and associated Federal ministers.
