Business Group: Mining | Team: Mine GeotechnicalDuties in relation to technical delivery of services within the Victorian Mining Team:• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and conduct site visits (where applicable) of operating mine sites and quarries, and subsequently, develop site geological and geotechnical models to understand the likely behaviour of soil and rock for quarries / open cut mines. • Conduct geotechnical assessments of open-cut mines during operational through rehabilitation & closure stages, including sensitive analyses for scenarios such as incremental lake filling, variation in groundwater gradients, flooding and seismic loading.• Conduct kinematic stability assessments for hard rock quarries, recommending batter-berm configurations to mitigate potential slope failures.• Conduct geotechnical analyses and make recommendations for optimal supplementation measures to improve slope stability, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, relevant legislation and regulations, and industry best practice.• Prepare technical reports to document current and potential hazards associated with slope stability performance, providing recommendations for suitable controls to minimise consequences for occupational health and safety (OH&S) and sensitive receptors.Duties related to Project Management :• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for geotechnical assessments for small/medium scale projects (<$100,000 fee value), and undertake Project Manager role duties on such projects.• Ensure junior team members (graduates or interns) are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry• Communicate on progress of delegated project assignment (a portion of the overall project) to others in the team who are dependent on their deliverable / contribution to proactively raise issues that may affect completion of the overall project in a timely manner

Experience in Risk Management and Stakeholder ManagementDuring my tenure, I held a role in risk management, specifically focusing on suburbs in Bogotá, Colombia, which were categorized as high to medium risk areas for potential landslides or rockfalls. In this capacity, I was responsible for providing technical assistance to various stakeholders, including the community, government entities, and internal team members, to address the prevention, mitigation, and corrective measures concerning natural events like landslides and rockfalls.My primary responsibilities encompassed identifying risks, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and proposing effective control measures to reduce risk ratings in the vulnerable areas. Additionally, I played a key role in determining whether it was necessary to relocate or evacuate inhabitants in high-risk zones or implementing immediate interventions to mitigate potential hazards.Achievements:• Emergency Response: I responded to and managed over 100 emergencies caused by landslides and rockfalls, demonstrating my ability to handle high-pressure situations while ensuring the safety of the affected communities.• Damage Assessment: I conducted thorough assessments of damages to more than 200 buildings and other public infrastructure, allowing for informed decision-making regarding risk management strategies.• Reporting: I compiled and produced over 300 comprehensive reports, providing valuable recommendations and actionable insights for effective risk management in response to natural events.• Professional Recognition: Within the first year of my tenure, I was selected by senior management to represent our organization in the "Evaluation of Scenarios to Reduce Risks Due to Natural Disasters" course. I worked in the area of geotechnics in the company. I was involved in projects related to the Oil and Gas Industry by executing and approving site characterization reports and making sure those met the company requirements and the local codes of practice in the subject of geotechnics. Likewise, I assessed and proposed recommendations for the assurance of the stability of slopes on roads and pipelines in several projects within the company. Achievements:• I supervised 50+ external staff while executing site surveys works in different regions of Colombia. • I created 20+ soil reports for facilities, pipelines and roads, by analysing the results of field testing methods including SPT, CPT, seismic reflection and refraction, and downhole seismic tests.• I recommended interventions of slopes to assure their stability in 1000+ kilometres on roads and pipelines in different regions of Colombia and Peru.

My role was to assist the senior geotechnical team members when developing site characterization and geotechnical reports. I was in charge of drafting geotechnical reports and execute preliminary analyses of results from soil laboratory and field testing.

I worked in the supervision of the contracts for roads construction and maintenance. My role was related to supervising the procurement of materials based on civil construction standards and drawings, assisting with QA-QC documentation preparation and check up on civil drawings.
