Monitor the operations of:-Five industrial grade large high pressure steam boilers and related auxiliary equipment-A 13.3MW back pressure turbo-generator and related auxiliary equipment-A 26.4MW condensing turbine and air cooled condenser unit and auxiliaries-Three 1.5MW diesel driven electric generators and auxiliaries-Five air compressors and all related auxiliaries-Cooling water system and related auxiliaries-Four sets of demineralizer trains and seven condensate polishers and related auxiliaries-Building HVAC systems and related auxiliaries-After hour monitoring of electrical system and Cooling plant system-After hours building security system-24/7 monitoring of Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO)Maintenance Tasks Include:-Perform and complete preventative maintenance to equipment-Perform pipe fitting, valve maintenance, plumbing and boiler maintenance -Modify existing systems and equipment with approval from Plant Manager-Work closely with instrument mechanic, millwright, electrician, welder, insulator, contractor and various other plant maintenance personnel-Perform housekeeping chores such as organization of stock and tools and general building maintenance and upkeep.TrainingAs a senior Operator it is often my responsibility to train new employees as they are hired in the safe and efficient operations of all plant equipment. Operating principles and techniques must be explained at length and the appropriate hands-on training must be given on the equipment and computers control consoles. Other tasks include:-Develop draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for plant equipment and systems-Update existing SOP's as necessary when plant equipment is added or modified-Coordinate the completion and updating of the plant training manual
