I overseeing the daily operations in the Preadmission Testing Department. I am responsible for insuring the daily schedule is accurate and charts are prepared according to the patient’s surgery. I insure that the patients are aware of their appointment date, time, location and duration. I have consistent communication with the patient’s surgeon so they are aware of any circumstances which may cancel or delay there patients scheduled procedure. I am responsible for finalizing the patient’s charts prior to handing off to the Pre-Operative nurses. I schedule all additional testing that has been ordered by the physician. I obtain all of the necessary authorization’s, to assist with the patient being optimized for their scheduled procedure. I monitor the daily work schedule to insure there is adequate coverage with in the department and fill in where needed. I round on patients every 15minutes when the clinic is running behind schedule. I run weekly QA reports on the registration staff to make sure they maintain the 97% accuracy rate as required. I also provide the necessary training in the event they are below the expected rate. I am responsible for maintaining the time keeping and attendance records for the staff. I assist the manager with yearly performance reviews. I make sure staff stays in compliance with Joint Commission rules and regulations. I was a super user during the implementation of the federally mandated hospitals electronic medical records. I work closely with the Veterans Evaluation Services. I do all of the order entry for the Veterans who are coming in for testing. I am responsible for sending all results to VES once they have been completed.

Verifying physician orders to make sure they have the correct patient identifiers. Comparing the order with the schedule to make sure the correct test has been ordered. Also verifying that the order contains the ICD 10 code and physician’s signature.
