Working closely with both graduate and undergraduate applicants to shape and refine admissions essays in order to put forward the best program application possible. Involves basic line-editing work as well as independent research on the students' chosen schools and programs to identify important skills/experiences for candidates to demonstrate, and honing a unique vocabulary and structure for each essay based on the student's passion and the program's niche. Back-and-forth draft revisions with the student and phone calls to discuss what we want and need out of the piece help to form a cohesive, compelling end product.

Worked full-time as a caregiver and tutor for two children, ages 3 and 5. Meticulously organized lesson plans for the kids each week, instructing them in reading, numbers, nature study, science, music, history, and geography. Prepared meals and snacks and timed our meals and lessons around nap time each day. Became highly proficient at giving dramatic readings of children's books! Also managed the house throughout the day, cleaning up after the kids, managing spills and accidents, changing diapers, and cleaning dishes. Became proficient at solving disagreements, fostering sensitive conversations, and stressing the importance of kindness and apologies. This job was by far the most challenging one I've had, but absolutely the most rewarding.
