Ensure K-12 tech curriculum is robust, modern, challenging, and ISTE compliant. Support faculty by modeling creative uses of technology and by designing and implementing professional development in curricular technology integration. Train teachers to use school's LMS. Teach US Media Arts, Introductory and Advanced Journalism, Disruptive Technologies, US Photoshop, US Intro to Video Production, and 7th Grade computer science.

Advise an award-winning staff of 20 dedicated student journalists as they report the news at their school. Students publish a print paper, a blog, and a broadcast, along with the requisite social media platforms. Offer as much journalism instruction as possible, even as the staff is maintains a busy production schedule. Schedule guest speakers, media trips, and visits to conferences to educate, inspire, and delight this crew of future journalists.

Maintain parent, student, employee information portal. Collaborate closely with Tech Director, Scheduler, and Registrar to keep portal workflows, class pages, calendars, and directories working smoothly. Coordinate e-blasts to new users. Develop training materials and make them easily available to all users. Stay current with latest system upgrades. Currently Project Lead to lay down Blackbaud's Education Edge database and integrate new SIS. Offer user support; monitor the email help desk.

Taught Web research skills to grades 4 through 12. For 2007-2008, developed and wrote a required online research skills course for freshmen; for 2008-2009, launched the course in Moodle, an open-source online course management software. Supported teachers with special technological projects, like Google Earth photo tours and integration of blogs into curriculum. Created a web portal to facilitate use of the library's research databases.

In summer 2006, I reported under Judy Muller with a fellowship called News 21, which is funded by the Carnegie Corporation and the Knight Foundation. At USC, we reported post-9/11 immigration stories. I worked on a number of stories, but my favorites were: Chuck Bitar's Story; Human Smuggling ... And Party Shoes; and Los Angeles Civil Rights Groups Sue the Government Over Citizenship Delays.

Taught 4th and 7th grade technology classes. Supported teachers in grades 4 - 8 as they implemented curricular technology. Developed robotics program using LEGO MINDSTORMS. Assisted in the design and development of faculty and staff training materials. Reviewed and evaluated curricular software. Provided support for basic software and hardware use in Lower and Middle Schools. Developed and ran two Middle School Interim Week technology projects: photo restoration in 2003 and robotics in 2004.
