Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be part of something bigger than just myself. Leading by example, my father inspired and guided me. English was his second language, so he would enlist my assistance. I witnessed his compassion and selflessness helping others first hand, by assisting others in filling out a job application, translating a document, or accompanying a friend to translate on their behalf. Furthermore, my upbringing has taught me that through my curiosity, education, and dedication, I would be equipped to confront obstacles. These experiences inspired me to pursue law where I could have an impact on those needing someone to be a voice or lend a hand.My career did not follow the trajectory that a majority of attorneys take. Still, I have had one consistent guiding principle – assist those that need help with both compassion and dedication. This is what attracted me to Kiwi Partners, an organization dedicated to the nonprofit field. As a Kiwi Team member, I work with nonprofits across all sectors and speak to many different people with a common goal: to do the best we can for the community we serve. I joined Kiwi Partners in 2000 as an Accounting Analyst, and rejoined the Kiwi team in 2006 as Manager of Operations, having completed a law degree and passing the New York Bar. In 2013, after continuing education in HR, I established a new Human Resources business line for Kiwi Partners. I evolved into my current role as the Vice President of Human Resources. Today, I lead a dedicated team of six HR professionals who use their HR expertise in an outsourced Human Resource environment. The HR Team’s services vary from working through selecting an optimal benefits package, selecting and implementing an HRIS or payroll service, revaluating and establishing standards for on-boarding, off-boarding, performance evaluations, and other culture-building processes. I am passionate about what I do because I can utilize my financial, legal, and management experiences, and my world travels, to benefit Kiwi Partners staff and our nonprofit clients.We work with our nonprofit clients as an advisor and partner as well as augmenting HR departments that need some additional support, project management, or expertise.
