Conducted an independent research project, and helped prepare the manuscript. Procedures included but not limited to different methods of protein purification, protein analysis, nucleic acid purification, DNA sequence analysis, agarose gel electrophoresis, microbial cloning, DNA cloning, PCR, restriction endonuclease digestion, bacterial strain manipulation, mutant construction, and enzymology. Familiar with the program PyMol and proficient in Excel and FIJI-ImageJ.

Assisted in data collection for the New York Forage Legume and Grass Variety Yield Trails for the 2017 Season. Work included properly labeling different types of crop samples, learning consistent sampling methods, general field work to maintain healthy crops, data recording, and packaging samples for drying and further analysis.

Assisted with conducting a meta-analysis of different statins on stroke recovery. Conducted an in-depth literature review on the immunological mechanisms by which the administering of statins leads to decreased inflammation in the brain, therefore reducing post-Intracerebral Hemorrhage symptoms. The results of this review were used to inform future lab projects.

Learned the basics of research and how studies are conducted. Analyzed fMRI data sets using the program FSL to determine lesion boundaries on cingulotomy patients exhibiting OCD symptoms.
