I am an e-Commerce Business Analyst with 22 years of experience in the music & video business industry. I started out in music retail as a means to make a living when I moved out to Massachusetts for an internship in museum conservation. 2 years internship was a requirement before enrolling in graduate school. I completed one year and was ecstatic to interview at the Smithsonian, but the other candidate with graduate school experience was selected. Catch-22! So, when a position as store manager was offered, my career path changed. After working as manager in a few different stores, I started working at Alliance where I have made my home since 1999. I’ve become familiar with multiple facets of this wholesale music and video business as I work closely with I.T. and the business to meet goals, enhance our warehouse operations, and launch accounts. My primary duties at Alliance include the setup, testing, and launching of all new e-Commerce accounts, launching integrations for top tier accounts like Amazon.com, Target.com, Walmart.com. I continue to interface and test with existing accounts like BestBuy.com and BN.com who have been with our company before my tenure. In addition, I have a strong background in the pick, pack, and ship operations from online order to delivery to the end consumer. One of the most interesting things about my position is working closely with my I.T. coworkers who are insanely smart and humorous. I enjoy learning how everything works in the background as the techs share their knowledge with me of old and new technologies that have been put in place over the years. While my degree in college was geared toward eventually working in a museum as a conservator, I’ve found that the documentation skills mesh very well with a business analyst position. While the position I hold has been learned on the job, I am hoping gain more experience in newer technologies and to continue to grow in my current job as a Business Analyst.
