Un Peace Operations (4Th Committee) ExpertMission Of Colombia To The United Nations May 2011 - Aug 2016New York City Metropolitan Area• I was the expert in charge of the process of creating and defining the mandate of the United Nations Special Political Mission in Colombia through the negotiation, approval, and implementation of Resolution 2261 (2016).• I was able to make progress in joint work with the United Nations Department of Political Affairs team in the preliminary stage of establishing the Mission, which allowed for the deployment of two waves of initial observers and part of the civilian staff.• I negotiated and accompanied the adoption of 29+ annual resolutions of the General Assembly and the Security Council, and led the negotiation of topics such as "Assistance to Mine Action," "International Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space," and Peacekeeping Operations representing the Non-Aligned Movement.• I led Colombia's participation in the UN Peacebuilding Commission as a member of the UN Security Council and General Assembly, taking actions that led to Colombia receiving a contribution of $3 million to the United Nations Trust Fund to support the post-conflict stage.• I coordinated the work agenda for the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, for different years during the United Nations General Assembly.
