I combine postgraduate education and speech pathology qualifications with an understanding of the education system.What has always motivated me is the significant gap in the time it tokes for research findings to make it into practice in the classroom. When I completed my masters research some researchers were suggesting 25+ years.This provides a platform for an innovative and practical approach to literacy. My work aims to extend teachers’ ability to cater to the specific developmental skills that impact literacy and academic performance.PLD continues to develop a creative and accessible response to the literacy-based needs of children in the classroom. PLD was also recognised by Professor Louden (2015) in his 'High Performing Schools' research paper for the WA Department of Education.With extensive experience as a Classroom Teacher, Specialist Literacy Teacher and Speech Pathologist, Diana understood what was needed.
