Sometimes emotional pain or difficulty with relationships provides the motivation needed to face our demons or simply to move “towards the center of your longing”. Ultimately, I think of psychotherapy as a cocoon for the unfolding of the soul.I have been asked numerous times who is my typical client. The answer is anyone who wants to experience more joy in his or her life. Each of our lives is a reflection of our beliefs and our beliefs form our attitudes and perceptions of the world. Our perception of the world is viewed through the filters of those beliefs, and from those perceptions, we gather evidence to prove that our beliefs are, in fact, correct. Our beliefs, attitudes and perceptions affect every area of our lives: where we live and work, our relationships, our health and our prosperity. Even though we think we know what we want, and we may have a positive outlook on life, we don't always attain the outcomes we desire. This is because our unconscious beliefs do not support our conscious beliefs and intentions. Often we are not even aware that we are unwittingly sabotaging ourselves by not being aware of the effects that our unconscious beliefs and our environment can have on us.
