- Conduct evaluations of nuclear power plant equipment inspection and maintenance programs and operational practices to evaluate compliance with insurability standards and identify areas for risk reduction and mitigation. Scope of responsibility includes multiple operational nuclear facilities and facilities currently under construction.- Convey NEIL initiatives by working with external agencies and presenting at industry conferences, committee meetings, and user groups.- Leads initiative to engage with designers and builders of new nuclear technologies to preemptively incorporate insurability requirements during design phase and streamline potential future insurance coverage. Initiative also includes cross-departmental engagement to identify first-of-a-kind challenges and mitigating actions.- Develop and deliver technical analysis and recommendations to Member Insureds to support decision making.- Leads Training Committee, including maintenance of 3-year training plan and compliance with Department Procedures and Guidance.

- Led a diverse team comprised of engineers, a supervisor, and technicians that provided dosimetry to over 3000 personnel, evaluated environmental monitoring results, reviewed radiation medical examinations, and oversaw the in-vivo monitoring program.- Oversaw an extensive project to improve accurate measurement of occupational exposure following construction of new facilities with higher natural background exposure rates, including communication of those changes to affected personnel.- Actively participated in the Site's Emergency Response Organization as the Radiological Technical Branch Director. Duties included leading the Radiological Technical Branch to calculate dose to site responders and members of the public, develop dose perspective statements for inclusion in press statements, and communicate with members of the public to address concerns.

- Provided independent oversight of all aspects of radiological controls to enforce and validate regulatory compliance at a Navy training facility operating two prototype reactors. Topical areas overseen through evaluations included radiation health, radiation instrumentation calibration, exposure control, emergency planning, and radiological training.- Advised senior management on operational changes necessary to improve radiological controls performance and reduce regulatory vulnerability.- Authored periodic formal correspondence to regulatory agency.

- Independently reviewed radiation medical examinations performed by Navy medical facilities to ensure compliance with regulations.- Provided thorough review and oversight of multiple aspects of the radiation health and environmental monitoring program, including entry of medical and exposure data, correction of exposure data upon receipt from various Naval commands, and peer review of sample results and associated reports prior to issuance to governmental agencies.

- Trained and assessed Navy enlisted personnel in radiological controls to support U.S. Navy fleet manpower and training needs.- Composed critical self-assessments of radiological training programs to identify weak areas and enable long-term sustainable performance improvement.- Established and maintained relationships with two local medical facilities and led annual training exercises with these facilities simulating treatment of a contaminated injured patient and subsequent facility decontamination.- Completed NAVSEA's RCTQS program in December 2011 and maintained an Supervisory Radiological Controls Technician qualification per NAVSEA 389-0288.

• Evaluated standards within ICRP 89 regarding human body composition and how it affects the dose. Presented our findings at the 2010 HPS Meeting.• Conducted campus radiation surveys for the Radiation Safety Officer.• Revamped the campus’s Radiation Safety Manual to make it more clear and concise.• Coauthored research project about air activation in the linear accelerator facility on campus which was presented at the 2008 HPS Meeting.• Utilized various equipment and programs to complete assignments such as MCNP5, MATLAB and the Protean Alpha‐Beta Counter.
