I am passionate about people and learning what makes them tick. My professional journey has expanded from helping students with research and teaching information literacy as an academic librarian, to conducting academic research as a PhD student and then teaching research methodologies to graduate students, and finally combining my academic research background with my creative pursuits in UX, where I have found my home in UX research. I am skilled in a variety of research methodologies and published academically:* Qualitative research* Quantitative research * Interviews* Ethnographic studies* Phenomenological studies (my PhD research)* Surveys * SPSS, NVivo, & Google AnalyticsWhen I’m not working, I am exploring the wilderness on foot or in my kayak, taking photographs and documenting my adventures on social media. I love organizing excursions into the outdoors for people of all levels, allowing everyone to access the healing and rejuvenating power of nature. I am a four-season hike leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club, where I also lead kayaking adventures, and I am one of three New Hampshire State ambassadors for LGBT Outdoors. I write for, co-edit, and design for a small nature journal and have written two novels and several short stories, and my photography has been shown in numerous local exhibits.
